Kind of a floaty mellow nearly drum and bass track with a string in the background, some almost glitchy wobbly midrange, and a lot of smooth bass. Made in Reason 8.
This is a growly little jam with a dnb'ish beat on a rock drum kit, made in Reason. That lead is actually an electric piano with a bunch of effects on it so it kind of sounds like a guitar :p the grime is pretty rough and an interesting contrast to the spacey phaser stuff going on.
'Imagine that an Eastern guitar player, a rock drummer, and a synth player randomly meet in a shady bar. A guy named Serj Tankian happens to be there whistling some 7 notes. The three musicians pick up the tune and jam right out to it.'
I got this tune in to the 7 Notes Experiment, where the idea was to start with 7 specific notes and then do whatever you wanted. My tune ended up being sort of Glitch Rock ish, with some rock drums, almost a theremin lead, and some other sounds.
You can enjoy hundreds of other really great entries from around the world at the Seven Notes Experiment website.
Here's a little keyboard jam I put together with some environmentals and a simple bassline. Someone who listened to it said it made them think of 'the time after you've had a good night and you're just chillin'.
Fun hip hop track made with the highly talented hip hop artist JCuz during an afternoon jam session. We collaborated on the making the tune and then took turns on verses. Hot wings really SHOULD come with everything ;)

This is a weird tune from 2011 that I never got around to releasing until now because it's more of an experimental stereo bass thing that happened by accident. It renders out very differently depending on what export settings are used and I couldn't exactly duplicate the original render from years ago so I'm just posting that one without processing it much more.
There's an interesting stereo bounce effect going on here and when a couple of the notes collide it makes a dramatic 'spinning off' sound.
Here's a new drum and bass track I made completely within Native Instruments Maschine software. It's really short because at 174 bpm the maximum song length seems to be only about 1:30. Next time I'll just use the NI software for making sounds/loops that I'll use in Reason which is my favoured DAW/sequencer so it can be longer.
I really liked the stereo effects of the grime sound and built the song around that after playing with the knobs for a while. Fun tune to make.
A fresh new jam with a lighter housey style - lots of keys, fairly upbeat. I'm told it has a very 80s feel. :p
A local friend named Whisper recently had a remix competition for his song Autumn and I couldn't resist working with such great material. No winnings but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, and I imagine that this very bouncy and grindy remix will likely provide a good head bob or two. :)

Here's a phat jam by myself and Mick Merlot, jammed out in late Nov. 2015. We were eating some pretty tasty pizza with hot sauce on it. A salty bass/grime line with some keys to take us on a journey.
Sort of a hot breeze of a housey track with a flute like organic lead and a nice environment with a nice low end.
This was a fun collaboration that originally took place in September of 2015. You're hearing JCuz with the vocals, Haul with the drums and the bell, and cryptoflux on the bass, grinder and keyboard.
This new tune has a 'call to action' or 'war horn' sort of feel to it, along with some grindy mids and a drum and bass-ish drum line. Lots of bass as well of course.
This is a mix of liquid drum and bass that I've been loving over the past while.

Here's a tune with a close to drum and bass drumline, some deep bass with some distortioned wobble and some spacey piano jams.
Here's a tune that I started about 10 years ago and forgot about, recently rediscovered, sequenced and mastered a bit. It's got a nice grinder in it with an acid style lead and an airy ahh voice for environmentals. I'd probably describe the beat as hip-hop-ish.
This is a hard Drum and Bass mix. Very grindy, very high energy.

This is a track I just came up with over the past few hours, trying to stay awake as I transition to the graveyard shift. It's got a really mellow feel to it, and I'm pretty pleased with the sense of environment that I get from it.
Here's a dirty electro house style tune that originally started out as me testing out a new microphone I purchased, and ended up being a reasonably dirty and fat track. This is something of a DJ mix of the tune, with the first half having the vocal bit and the last half not having the vocal bit (aside from the very end) to allow for easier mixing.
This is an upbeat yet dirty little track that has some deep bass (as usual), some happy organic-ish leads and a layer of grimy distorted bass. I really don't know what genre to call it so I'm calling it 'Grimy Lounge'. It might be a little too quick for lounge... hmm
This fat little hip hop track was produced by myself and JCuz back in the fall of 2011, on the day when the wind in downtown Calgary was so powerful that pieces of buildings started falling off and they had to shut down the downtown core.
The tune has a nice powerful bassline with a layer of grime and some downright awesome vocal work by JCuz (in my opinion anyway). I'm not as happy with my vocal parts but hey it was a fun afternoon project.
The long delay before release was because I wanted to master it a bit better and have recently found some tools that help with that immensely. So here it is :)
Here's an old track from November of 2011 that I thought I had posted but didn't. Mick Merlot and I put it together one afternoon; it's got some nice grindy bits and some heavy bass, but still with that downtempo feel that my work seems to end up with most of the time.
Smooth and tasty track, sort of a deep soulful psychedelic funk.
This is a cool track with some native singing samples mixed in. Nice and mellow and psychedelic.
Check out this sweet hip hop style track by JCuz and I

Here's a cool short happy trippy song that my friend Dirtiness and I made up, it's got a really mellow kids song kind of feel.
Here's a really downbeat trippy track made by my friend Dirtiness and I. A few spanish samples and a very laid back and psychedelic atmosphere.
Here's a nice downbeat 'Lounge Step' tune I made this afternoon, lots of deep bass, some grinding and some tasty leads.
This is a happy and upbeat tune with a catchy lead and a positive voice sample that says 'celebrating our freedom'. Mick Merlot and I came up with it this fine first day of October, 2011. It has something of a punky polka feel to it, though it's definitely not either punk or polka.
Here's a grimy yet mellow instrumental track I put together back in May of 2011. It's got a really mellow trippy sound with some grimy bass added in.
Here's a track that JCuz, Mick Merlot and I put together back in July 2011. Another trip hop rap story, this one is musically on the mellower side with some interesting and slightly unsettling lyrics. Lots of bass and some trippy environmentals.
Here's a sweet new track that JCuz and I came up with this afternoon - I would call it trip hop with some interesting rapping by each of us. We called it 'Finally' because we've been meaning to get together and make another track for a while and Finally got around to it.
Here's a funky new tune, the sample says 'Working around the clock'.
Here's a fresh, mellow track I came up with this morning. Pretty loungey, with a smooth bassline and some happy lead noises, and a touch of grindey bass once in a while.
Here's a smooth new track with some guitar sounds and some nice low bass. The sample says '... and we're going down... ' .
Here's a mellow and upbeat tune that Mick Merlot and I put together this afternoon. It was made after ordering eight pairs of sunglasses online.
Here's a new track that JCuz and I came up with this afternoon. Dubsteppy grindy bass and a bunch of verses of rappin.
Here's a track that JCuz and I just came up with today. He really does a great job with the vocals and we collaborated on the music.
Here's a fresh new track I cooked up with JCuz, we call it File D3722586. It's kind of mellow and dark, and tells something of a potential story.
This is a song that I created back in 2003 and just rediscovered. I gave it a little more sequencing and a bit of mastering and here it is. It needs a lot more mastering but I'm done messing around with it for now.
This tune is kind of a Valentine's day tune (which was yesterday), and it's kind of a story about one sound that meets another sound and then they end up happily singing together. Right now I really sympathize with the story in this song.
Here's a song I just completed that reminds me of a relaxing walk in the park while listening to bassy music on my headphones.
Here's a fresh track that myself and Mick Merlot came up with the other day. Lots of deep bass!
Here's a new track I made over the past couple weeks that has lots of bass. It's kind of on the mellower side.
This is a track I came up with over the weekend, while finishing reading the book 'Temple of the Winds' by Terry Goodkind. I would say that's where the inspiration of the title came from, though the actual tune may or may not have had anything to do with the book.
This is a track that I started back in August 2007 a couple weeks after I had come home from Shambhala (a music festival in the mountains). I was just about to start looking for work relating to my newly acquired degree and felt very empowered. The inspiration for the lyrics are from a movie called 'Pump up the Volume', and the vocal sample is of myself. It speaks to the empowerment of the individual even with one of the crudest of modern eating implements, the plastic fork.
This song is my first major piece of work using a midi keyboard. I think it kind of sounds like housey elevator music.
This track has an almost dubby kind of feel, and I like how the bass turned out for the most part. Unfortunately I only have an 8" subwoofer at home so I can't really hear the ultra low stuff when I'm producing. This track uses a sample from a movie called 'Crookz', of Matt Keay (who plays 'Eddie') - a really great movie produced by a friend of mine that I recommend you google - it is available for free. (I make a short appearance near the end of the film :p )
This is a mix of upbeat drum & bass. I didn't make any of these tracks.
